Change a leader's life through serving
Selah Leaders
have a servant culture
We go the extra mile
PART OF OUR SERVING CULTURE AT SELAH LEADERS IS TO GO THE EXTRA MILE IN SERVING. PASTORS ARE SERVANTS BUT OFTEN HAVE VERY FEW PEOPLE WHO SERVE THEM TO THE SACRIFICIAL DEGREE THEY SERVE OTHERS WITH. LET’S GO THE EXTRA MILE, SERVE SACRIFICIALLY AND REMOVE ANY OBSTACLE THAT STANDS IN THE WAY OF THEM RESTING.
WE LOOK FOR THE ISOLATED
NO MATTER WHAT TRIP YOU ARE ON THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A FEW GUYS WHO DON’T CONNECT AS WELL AS OTHERS DO. ON THE TRIP, KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FOR THOSE WHO ARE ISOLATED, NOT ENGAGED IN CONVERSATION OR JUST BY THEMSELVES. TAKE TIME TO INCLUDE THEM AND HELP THEM ACCLIMATE TO THE REST OF THE GROUP.
WE ARE STRATEGIC LISTENERS
AS WE ARE HANGING OUT WITH PASTORS, THERE WILL BE LOTS OF SIDE CONVERSATIONS THAT TAKE PLACE. AS STAFF, WE ARE STRATEGIC IN OUR LISTENING SO THAT WE KNOW HOW TO PRAY AND ENCOURAGE THOSE ON THE TRIP. BE SURE TO SPEND MORE TIME LISTENING THAN TALKING AND ASK OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS.
WE CONSISTENTLY ENCOURAGE
SOME PASTORS ARE COMING ONTO THIS TRIP BURNT OUT AND BROKEN DOWN. YOUR WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO THEM WILL BRING SO MUCH REFRESHMENT TO THEIR SOUL SO DO IT AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. YOU ARE NOT HERE TO PASTOR THESE PASTORS, BUT YOU ARE HERE TO ENCOURAGE THEM.
Serving opportunities
Getaway Staff
Kitchen Crew
As pastors and leaders it can sometimes be difficult to find friends and real community. During these getaways you'll have the opportunity to meet, fellowship, and commune with those who are running the race with you. You don't have to put on a mask or pretend everything's ok, this environment is safe to open up about your struggles and our hope for you is that you would establish friendships with other pastors and leaders so you don't do life alone.
Hospitality
You pour into others on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis. We are passionate about making sure you get poured into and leave feeling empowered, encouraged, and energized. We don't just want you to experience rest, we also want to give you the tools to keep a healthy rhythm of rest so that you not just survive, but thrive in all that God has called you to.
Care
We also want you to have fun on this getaway. Each trip includes an activity where you can enjoy God's creation and have fun. These activities range from TopGolf to fly fishing and more!
Guide with us
Pastors spend their lives pouring out, carrying the weight of people, decisions, and constant responsibility. Many don’t know how to stop long enough to breathe. Time on the river does something sermons and sabbaticals can’t. Creation slows the soul, silence disarms stress, and presence restores perspective. We’ve seen pastors show up tired and leave lighter, not because of conversation, but because of space. Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can offer is a morning on moving water.

FAQs
Partner with us
From the very beginning of hosting Getaways, our heart has been to make them super affordable for leaders to draw away and spend time recharging. The average trip costs around $875 per person however thanks to generous donors, these trips are free! Limited finances never keep anyone from attending these events and thanks to those who partner with us scholarships are available.
Selah Sponsors
As we help pastors embrace a lifestyle of rest, we've come to realize that most pastors have common pain points in their organizations. Lead Pastor Getaway sponsors are organizations that provide resources that make pastors' lives easier and allow them to focus on their purpose.
Trip Host
These organizations help fully fund lead pastor Getaways, ensuring that costs are never a hindrance for pastors experiencing rest.
