WHAT TO EXPECT

FELLOWSHIP

As pastors it can sometimes be difficult to find friends and real community. During these getaways you'll have the opportunity to meet, fellowship, and commune with those who are running the race with you. You don't have to put on a mask or pretend everything's ok, this environment is safe to open up about your struggles and our hope for you is that you would establish friendships with other pastors so you don't do life alone.

Teachings

You pour into others on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis. We are passionate about making sure you get poured into and leave feeling empowered, encouraged, and energized. We don't just want you to experience rest, we also want to give you the tools to keep a healthy rhythm of rest so that you not just survive, but thrive in all that God has called you to.

FLY FISHING

We also want you to have fun on this getaway. On this trip we will spend a few hours out on the river enjoying God's creation through fly fishing. If you've never fished before or aren't sure you'll enjoy it - don't worry! We will come prepared with all the gear you'll need and to show you how to have a good time regardless of your skill level.

We recommend you bring the basics that you need to be comfortable including clothing appropriate for the weather, toiletries, your own pillow, a bible, journal, pen, and a few other essentials. A complete packing list will be sent to you ahead of your trip along with the weather forecast so that you can adequately prepare. If you would like to bring your own fly fishing equipment for this you are more than welcome to do so but we will have everything you need already with us if not.

If you are driving:

Please arrive between 4:00-5:00 PM on the event start date. The team will be preparing for you before this time.

The address is 80 Sailview Dr, Nebo, NC 28761. (Gate code will be sent a few days before your arrival.)

On your last day, we’ll have a Grab n Go breakfast ready. Please plan to depart around 8:30 AM.

✈️ If you are flying:

We strongly recommend booking your flights 45–60 days before your retreat for the best pricing and to help our team be best prepared. We will contact you via email requesting your flight information.

Arrival Day: Book flights that land by 2:30 PM to catch our 3:00 PM shuttle from Charlotte Douglas Airport to the Getaway Property. On Arrival Days, there is also a shuttle opportunity before 11:00am.

Departure Day: The shuttle will leave house at approximately 8:30 AM. It is encouraged to book your flights to depart after 11:30 AM.

**NOTE: If your flight does not align with the shuttle, you’ll need to arrange your own transportation to/from the retreat. The property is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from the airport.

Our primary purpose and operations are providing loan assistance to churches and church-related entities so they can expand their facilities, purchase land, build, renovate, or refinance current debt. We are able to provide these loans with the funds that are invested by individuals and organizations who value a faith-based investment opportunity. We currently have approximately 1,400 loans with churches and organizations all across North America. The vast majority of these loans are first mortgage-backed with buildings or land as collateral, and most are guaranteed by the local district or denomination they are affiliated with. In our over 75 years of operation, WIF has never had to foreclose on a loan that we have provided.
